How The Light Gets Out

I am not a psychiatrist or a psychologist.

What I have is what over 6 billion other people have; a mind and a spirit.

Together, they are pretty great.

Humans are are not born with a hard shell around them, like lobsters or armadillos. Our experiences and the thoughts and feelings we associate with them create blocks of resistance which, in turn, affect our health and well being. Get enough blocks and your natural energy and spiritual self cannot flow.

They are trapped.

For example, imagine you have romantic feelings for someone you know. Maybe you belong to the same gym or some kind of club. When you finally work up the courage to express your feelings, hoping this will be the start of a loving relationship, you discover the other person does not feel the same way.

This hurts.

You are sad, maybe humiliated, even a little depressed for awhile. You connect these feelings with the thought that expressing your feelings only leads to pain, rejection and humiliation. This creates what Cyndi Dale (in The Complete Book of Chakra Healing) calls

a stronghold where you decide to avoid emotional expression and relationships altogether in order to avoid ever feeling this way again.

That leads to a block.

Get enough blocks and you start to look like The Thing from The Fantastic Four (energetically speaking of course - maybe physically). Blocks can physical (pain), spiritual or mental. They can be addressed through the corresponding energy centres of the body, also known as chakras through different modalities, including Reiki.

We make associations like this all the time as we try out different combinations to find what works out best for us.

NOT letting your light shine and NOT expressing your authentic self is not best for you.

The good news is that, when you challenge a block, it cracks a little. Then a little more. As you continue to hack away, it finally falls away.

There is a popular meme that shows a beautiful vase with cracks in it and the message goes something like "The cracks are how the light gets in".

I think the cracks are how your light gets out.

Unlock your true potential and let your light shine by challenging the blocks that hold you back. Discover the transformative power of Reiki to heal and harmonize your mind, body, and spirit—book your session today.
