Entropy: the degree of disorder or randomness in a system
For those students of science (and aren't we all really?) this is a simplified definition but one that serves my blog today.
(for a more detailed and excellent explanation, go to Khan Academy and the Laws of Thermodynamics).
So basically, it kind of goes like this; picture a (large) container with a base and four walls. Leave the lid off so you can look into it. Now, into this container, lay down some shavings and put six guinea pigs, all into one corner of the box. Grab a coffee and get comfortable.
Over time the guinea pigs will look around and start to explore. They will spread out to all four corners and maybe even the middle of the container. That's entropy - the tendency to spread out. My point is, those pigs will not stay in one corner forever; they will fill their space.
If you remove two guinea pigs, the remaining four will continue to spread out
OR
you now have room to add something else like, for example, a toy for the pigs. Something they can interact with.
Imagine now, replacing those guinea pigs with your thoughts, ideas, concepts, qualities that are uniquely you.
That black pig - that's your tendency to second guess yourself.
The brown and white one - your anxiety
The long-haired white one in the corner - your cock-eyed optimism and the gold one - your big big heart.
These thought vibrations are energy and energy, like those adorable guinea pigs, like to spread out and fill the space they occupy. They fill you.
But there's more. They fill you and then they radiate out from you to the universe because, unlike that guinea pig box, you are NOT a closed container but one that is connected to and part of the universe. Think more like a sieve rather than a box.
The full moon is an ideal time to release those thoughts, those energies, that no longer serve you. Offload that negative thought and into that space let something that serves you, something good, take up residence. It really is that easy.
The full moon is a great time to do this; it is the energy boost that gives punch to your meditation, your intention, dreams, hopes, desires.
Join me for a full moon gathering and meditation on May 18th from 1-2 pm at InSpirit Centre, Georgetown.
Happy Flower Moon

no guinea pigs, real or imaginary were harmed in the writing of this blog.
