Crystals...not just rocks (well maybe)

In the neighbourhood where I grew up there was a street, one

block away, that was a steep hill with no sidewalks. On one side was a 3 story apartment building and on the other, a side view of the backyards whose houses flanked this hill; one house at the top and the other at the bottom.
I spent many happy summer days walking up and down that hill, always looking down, collecting rocks, and I was never disappointed.
Even though I never knew what those rocks were, they made me happy. Between my rocks and the pond behind the apartment building that provided an endless supply of tadpoles (a quick and easy science project,) I was a happy girl.
Fast forward 40 years from the 70's to now and I am still enthralled with rocks, except now I call them crystals.
Some rocks may look prettier than others on the surface but the magic (yes, the 'M' word) happens within the rock.
Cue the eye rolling or the glazed expression while backing away slowly and smiling....I've seen it all and will forge ahead anyway.
I'll skip the chemistry lesson and get to the really interesting stuff. How can crystals heal? Well they don't.
You heal yourself. Crystals help.
Have you ever seen a crystal or a rock vibrate by itself? I haven't yet but I have felt it vibrate, get hot and send tingles up my arm and other parts of my body.
Oh grow up.
Rocks (aka crystals) resonate.

The Energy Behind It.
Each crystal structure has its own unique energetic profile, with loads of potential energy. This energy is released as that tingling or warmth that you feel when it encounters a vibration that is similar to its own. This is resonance and it comes from Latin and means 'to sound, to shout out together'.
Crystals, or rather the molecules within the crystals, vibrate. Because crystals are a solid, the molecules vibrate less than if they were in a liquid or gaseous form and so they tend to vibrate in place and as a result, exert enormous attractive forces.
Our bodies (or rather the molecules making up the various parts of our bodies) also vibrate. The eyeball resonates at 20-90 Hertz, the chestwall at 50-100 Hertz, the spine at 10-12 Hertz and so on.
So Lets Put it All Together

When two objects, whose resonance or vibration are in sync with each other, come together a transfer of energy occurs.
A crystal resonating at the same vibration as, say, your eyeball will transfer its energy to said eyeball. This is resonant frequency.
This also explains why certain crystals are especially good for certain parts of the body; their vibrations (or oscillations if you want to get technical) are similar.
But wait, there's more.
Why stop with the physical body? The aura is an energetic field. Thoughts are energy. Chakras are energetic centres. Are there crystals that resonate with auras, thoughts and chakras? You betcha.
Possibly the most dramatic and disastrous example of resonant frequency is the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. In 1940, the winds
blowing across the bridge at the same frequency as the bridge set it into motion and caused it to collapse. It's worth googling. Resonant frequency doesn't have to be so dramatic. Sometimes it can be something as gentle as rocking a baby to sleep in a basinette.
This is my favourite crystal
