What's a Nice Girl Like You Doing In a Place Like This

This blog began as a title; the one you see before you.
Haven't we all wondered at times how our path brought us to this point in life. Hopefully you are happy with your path.
Sure, some of the twists in the road were rough, strewn with rocks (or boulders) and I don't know about you, but I've tripped on more than a few exposed tree roots.
If you're thinking 'Great, this is where she talks about climbing over those boulders, seeing rainbows, unicorns, etc' then think
again. Those boulders sucked big time and my command of profanity grew by leaps and bounds on those tree roots (they hurt!).
But here I am.
The pain gave me the opportunity to find a way to heal.
The boulders gave me the chance to strengthen my physical and spiritual body and I have the scars to prove it. Lots of scars.
Along the way, I discovered that what I see is NOT all there is and that is the greatest exploration of all.
Here's a great way to see what you're eyes normally can't.
Try this: in a darkened room, hold your hands, fingers pointing toward each other, about 3 inches apart.
Good. Now looking at the space between your fingertips, relax your eyes (it's okay if things get blurry - in fact it's great - maybe your eyes will even cross).
When you see the 'white' shadow of your fingertips extending towards each other, move your fingers further apart and then closer together paying attention to that white 'smoke like'
shadow. You are looking at your aura.
Pretty cool huh.
That, my friends, is how it all started for me.

After this beginning, in the profound words of The Fixx, "one thing leads to another" (so deep).
At the heart of it all is.....energy in all its glorious manifestations.
And books. So many books. I am not alone and never have been. Centuries of people before me have pondered the same things and written so many great things.
Plato wrote about chakras in his dialogue "Timaeus" in which he described them as 'organs of energy'. Albert Einstein had plenty to say.
Apparently so do I.
